Need help, I'm on my third tranny and after the last tranny shop installed it and said it was good I drove it about 120 miles with no problems then all of a sudden it just went into second gear and I had no o/d. It does move in manual second and I'm told the tranny is good that I have an electrical problem the tranny shop wants to wash their hands of it. Any suggestions
The 4r100 is indeed an electronically controlled transmission and it would help to know what vehicle, motor, rear end, modifications, year, you typical use (normal grocery getting or hauling 25,000lb trailers to the top of pikes peak)
What do they think was wrong with the last two, when did they crap out, is this a reputable tranny shop, Ford service, or just a bunch of guys with wrenches?
Its a 7.3 powerstroke in a 2000 f-350 crewcab and I drive it from the Oregon coast to the I-5 corridor to work 2hrs. It was first rebuilt in Utah while I was on a job there then drove back to Oregon. At 14,000 miles after that overhaul it went out again. I had the next shop put a transgo shift kit in it. I didnt even get home when it seamed to shift down or out of converter lockup then it just reved and no 3rd or o/d.
