I have downloaded the specs particularly the GVWR , payload and GCVWR from the review on the home page for the 2005 Super Dutys. Go into my local Ford dealer to order a F350 and the sales manager asks where did I find the specs as they dont have the specs yet !!. gave him the URL and he downloaded the specs and then said I'll have to check with Ford Canada to make sure the "FORD" numbers are the same. A week has gone by and he still cannot verify the numbers. A call by me to customer service resulted in my being told check with the dealership sales manager as we do not have that information.
My questions are :
1 Does any one know the the origin of the specs given in the article on the home page
2 Is it normal for the dealerships to be in the dark re vehicle specs for new models. even though they have all the ordering info re options etc.
3 Does any one know how I can find the official Ford specs for a 2005 F350 crew cab, short box, 4X2 SRW Diesel. GVWR, Payload, Curb Weight GCVWR. I dont want wind up ordering a truck that will not handle towing my 5vr.
Just needed verification that the source was Ford as the dealership I have ordered my truck from does not have this info and was a little hesitant to place an order. I made it conditional on the numbers being correct for the truck I ordered. The dealership didn't want to be stuck with the truck if the numbers were wrong. They must be fairly confident as they have placed my order.
Still cannot understand why Ford has not provided it's dealers ( In Canada ) with this info, sure makes it difficult to order a vehicle for towing without it.
from what i understand these numbers are under rated and once chevy and dodge release theres, you will see the updated ford numbers. Seems like a game of can you top this..Best of luck on the new ride
