Pin Weight/GCVWR
Ok, I have a 2004 F-250SD, Long bed, ExCab, V-10 with a 3:73 rear end and tow a 5th wheel trailer with a GVWR of 10400 pounds and a pin weight of 1500 pounds. The truck/trailer with me, wife, dog 3/4 tank of gas and 1/3 grey water tank weighed 17,030 pounds (30 pounds over the GCVWR listed in the owner's manual).
Now, I'm thinking of going to a 2005 or newer F250 SD configured almost the same way as this one. I heard that Ford upped the vehicle GGVWR to 9600 to 9800 pounds. I have not been able to find an owner's manual on line to check the tow tables for GCVWR and such. Anyone out there with a 2005 or newer have one that can post the GCVWR's for that truck?
I'm not against considering a F350 SD Crew Cab, SRW (maybe a diesel). I'm confident that rig will handle the trailer. Anyone know where I can find the towing chart for that combination to see what the highest (numerically lowest) gear ration I can get with a 20,000 pound GCVWR?

You should definitely get an F350--should have about 11000 GVWR. You can only find 3.73/4.10/4.30 gears--most of the time it will be 3.73 on SRW, I think.
Try looking up Trailer Life archived tow ratings for whatever year you are interested in.
