Hey all. I'm thinking of putting a set of headers on my '03 250 SD. Anybody have any experiance with this. Who makes them? Is the install a PITA? I already have a cat back with a K&N intake and a throttle body spacer. I'm just looking for a little more.
Sorry if this is the wrong place to post. What do you expect from the F.N.G.
I have headers on my V10. I baught the Banks Power Pack kit. I would recommend changing the Y pipe if you are going to add headers. The stock Y pipe is much to restrictive with the added flow of the headers. The job is a good day and a half job. The V10 is harder to do witht he added length on the engine. The job is straight forward but there is a risk of having things go bad because with all header applications you MUST remove the steel studs from aluminum heads. They have a tendancy to break leaving half of them in the head. I have a 03' V10 and I installed my headers about a month ago. My studs came out very easily. The truck had 28K on it. Yours is a 03' so who knows it could be easy also. Is your SD a V8 or 10?
Yes banks makes kits for every Ford truck. V10....V8...and diesels. And banks kits includes Headers, 3" Y pipe, Dynaflow muffler, and 3.5" tailpipe.
The power increase is noticable but not everwhelming.
