I have a 2001 E/B Expy with rear LLS. What have any of you seen as far a when(mileage)the LLS malfunctions. Mine currentlky has 72K miles and I was wondering when I could expect the bags to go or the compressor to quit on me. Thanks for all repsonses.
My '00EB LLS sensors started to go at about 50K. The rear bags, front air shocks and compressor all worked when I tore them out, threw them in the dumpster and replaced the whole system w/ one from Strutmasters.
parts were in the neighborhood of $500 - look at Strutmasters.com and price it out - I did front and rear - rear only would be cheaper... I don't recall what I paid for labor... somewhere around $200.
Thanks for the info. Ii have not had any problems yet but my wife drives it most of the time. Since we plan on keeping it a few more years I was thinking of replacing the air suspension with something more conventional (shocks and springs). Don't want her to get stranded out on the road because of a faulty system. Not sure how long LLS will last but the vehicle is used only for highway driving. Try to take care of it but don't really trust the air bag system. Don't know how it will affect the ride but I would rather not worry about when the LLS will quit on us. Thanks again.
Replacing the system w/ Strutmasters along w/ Bilsteins in the rear made the Expy ride more like a truck - which was what I wanted anyway... if I wanted a Caddy, I'd buy a Caddy.
