Please a few moments of your time, i want to purchase a pair of ceramic coated short headers for my 82 f-250 4x4 351w, this truck has the clutch linkage and front driveshaft on the drivers side. any vendors come to mind?
thanks
Hey, thanks for the reply, you could go with long tube headers and route the driver side header pipe under the transmission, this would depend on your type of tranny, i did that on a 85 without to much difficulty, they will present clearence issues even if you weld the header pipe instead of bolting. i had a manual so 2 1/2 inch pipe plus the 2 inchs for clearence was something i could live with. its a thought

you won't find any for a 460 that is older than 88. They changed the exhaust manifold for EFI in 88, and shorty headers are only normally made for EFI vehicles. The only decent 460 headers I've seen are from L&L, and they run about $400-500 a pair [long tube].
While we're on the discussion of headers... I have an 86 F-150 2wd with a 5.0 and manual trans. All the headers I find have this neat little note attached that say they won't work with the manual. I see 5.0 Mustang shorty headers on eBay all the time cheap. Will they fit ok? I have a cracked drivers side exhaust manifold so I'm going to have to buy something.
