is a stock fuel pump on a 351w adiquite to handle a 650 holley with a recurlating fuel system? when im ont the throttle it seems to hesitate a little. what do you guys think?
A re circ fuel system is prety cool if you have problems with vapor locking. all it is is a tee in line after the fuel pump and one side goes to the carb and the other goes back to the tank. thus giving you cool fuel keeping it from boiling in the lines. my system has a 1/4 inch return line that i crimped down about half way. so i was wondering if any one knows the specs of a stock fuel pump. aka gpm.
If it is in good shape, it should be good enough to keep the carb full. I would look into the timing and accelerator pump for the hesitation problem. It if was a feulpump problem, it would run out of fuel at the top of each gear.
does it have a return line to the tank? looks like its set up so when the bowl is full then the fuel is pumped back to the tank. can i get rid of this system if i ever had to?
