This isn't exactly how I thought this tread would go.
No body lifts. Just a 6" suspension lift.
I will try to make this clear to even Pro.
This is a real project, The 10,000.00 budget is over the next 18mo.
The truck will not have a bed or front fenders. The cab has been moved back 8". Yes Pro, I did it all by myself. Those rivets are a pain. I even fabed the body mounts. Looks don't matter to me I can't see it any way.
Now please give real and helppfull advice.
Hey Pro, Go **** yourself. I can do more as a blind guy than you probly can sighted.
AHAHAHAHHHHHHHH fish on, sweetcakes. Tell ya what, sweetcakes, you build your "beast" and since you can build build blind what I can do sighted we'll compare 1/4 mile times and post them here. I guarantee what your ignorant **** can build these days can't compare with what I built four years ago. Poser
Just can't give the Blind guy any credit for anything can you? This was to give my wife a chance to get use to real power. the Lazer Cams 295 solid roller and Victor hi-rise with a 900cfm carb will make 600hp and 550tq. 800hp and 900tq on the bottle. or do you think that is me being a poser too. The 428 crank limits your rpm too much. And doesn't give enogh increase in power to justify it's limitations.
just wondering if your going with 50" tires I hope your just planning on mudding cause that tire and lift need and axle clarance wont do well on trails, just flat open areas
Dana 60 front and rear with 44" tires and a 6" lift to keep CG low to the ground.
or
49" IROC with Rockwells and more lift.
or
what?
Thanks for really helping me.
Settle down a lil bit, I waas just messing with ya about the 410. That is what I am planning on running in my pickup once I get the cash to build it. I am not a fan of high revving motors so its really no problem for me if I can't rev it over 5-6,000rpms.
If it was me I would forget about those huge tires and go with the 44s (the small guys) I'd go 60 front and 70 or bigger rear. The 60 rears aren't all that great from what I've heard and read.
Thanks, I am just trying to find out what my options are. considering this is a toy and doesn't need to look good I was hoping to go big real big. Besides My wife does all the driveing. So I want it unstoppable. Yes she knows how to wheel off road. We do it all the time. She is the reason for building this thing. I like fast street vehicles myself. But off road is fun too.
Ok, now that things have settled some i'll put in my 2 cent. My dream truck/ultimate trail rig is only gonna have 38 inch tires but its gonna have D60's front and rear and I'm going to put in a Cummins 12 valve diesel and a manual trans. in the truck. This is what i would build, but you got 10k to spend so you could do alot with that.
It doesn't have any problems unless you run BIG tires. I'm not sure what the cutoff for tire size is for the 60 rear. I know I have one in my pickup and I'm going to run either 35s or 36s, I won't know until I get my body mounted and see which looks better. I've heard from a few people if in rocks with a D60 with a Locker with 38s or bigger they snap pretty easy, especially if you have the HP you are running.
