Difference in the 400s

Hello. I am new into the 335 series. I just bought a 1978 f250 4x4 with the 400 and a friend had a 400 out of a 1978 Lincoln that I took off his hands. I think I read that there are differences in the two (cam/heads?). Is there and if so, what. Thanks for all the knowledge in the rest if the forum. Alot to look through.

they are close
the truck is suppose to have a D7TE block
the compression and cam may be slightly different(slightly)
if running thru a automatic it won't matter or if the lincoln had a D7TE block that has a reinforced to handle a standard tranny
