alternator question..need help

is there anyway to tell what alternator i have i saw it could be a 95 amp or a 130 amp and i need a voltage regulator for it and i would like to get it before i remove the alt so i have it here also do i ned to replace brushes when i do this or are they included and it just bolts right on. thanks for any help i had never done this before so i want to make sure before i remove it

In my 92 6 cyl., the voltage regulator was part of the alternator if I remember right. You do not have to replace brushes, it just bolts on. You may have to go to the parts store and match up the alternators to see which one you have. Take your time, it is an easy fix. Watch which way you take the belt off. Good luck with it.

The replacement alternator comes ready to bolt on. There should be some numbers stamped in the alternator housing, of which one set should show the amp of that alt.
