Angry 6.0 problems

i have 2003 f 250 lariat and have had nothing but problems with 6.0 since around 500 miles. dealer has replaced injectors, reflashed multiple times, to no avail, i still have the rolling idle, get about 8-10 mpg doing it with math not the computer, engine smokes so bad and the exhaust is so smelly that i cannot have my windows down ever, must always use ac on recirculate or the truck fills up with fumes, the dealer has had my truck nearly 30 days since new and I'm about ready to file for the lemon law but i'm wondering if a new one would be any better, i have 48,000 miles on it and i depend on my truck to run my business, any opinions would be appreciated

Capt. --There are good '03s and bad ones--there are better 04's and bad ones. I have had virtually no trouble with my 04. My 03 was a nightmare. Don't give up on the 6.0 ford--it's a GREAT engine--maybe try a different dealership??
Get your VIN, motor build date, vehicle build date and get ready for more help and advice than you can imagine. and the best help for a ford truck on the planet!

Well schmitty, this is a load for the very first post. To be effective in our effort to help you we need some particulars. First the VIN, we'll run it and find out all the good stuff, like how many injectors..........replaced...you did not tell us. What flashes did you receive, it s on your invoice.
You are very vague in telling us what is wrong, no build date no dealership name and location of where you bought the truck...tell us more.

Give good details. Then we can help

In case your wondering, the motor has a build date on the drivers side valve cover......you will see a bar code and build date if you crank your head just right. I can see mine from looking just standing beside the truck.

Welcome to FTE and good luck with with your Charlie recovery.

With regards to diesel smell in the cab...It seems that many dealers overlook the possbility of cracked exhaust "Y" pipe. May be do to the fact that, as I have heard anyway, they have to pull the cab to replace. You may want to have your dealer inspect for this.

Are you satisfied that your service dept is knowledgeable enough to fix your truck and do they have Ford cerified diesel techs? We have discovered that some dealerships simply are not up to the tasks.

Again, good luck.
