My new 1999 Explorer's Rear Window EXPLODED

Hi, this is too late for some of you, but a thought for everyone
else. I'm an insurance agent in MN, and I know that the cost of
having zero deductable on safety glass is VERY minimal. I urge
everyone who has comprehensive coverage to always pay the extra
few $ to have no deductable on their glass. If you're in doubt,
call your agent today! You can always add this coverage if you
don't already have it. In Mn, if there is a coverage available
that was not offered to you or explained to you, your agent
could be held responsible fot the cost of damages. Of course that
would probably entail a small claims suit, but an agent might be
pursuaded to cough up some cash just to keep a client.
At any rate, check your policies!
Scott

First, as a Florida registered vehicle, you should be covered under the glass replacement law. As my insurance agent explained it, all insured vehicles in the state of Florida get the windshield replaced FREE and all other glass replaced for a $100.00 deductible. I am positive on the windshield, but the extra glass might be just my insurance company's policy. If that is the case, I strongly suggest that you call at least three auto glass places to get a quote on the replacement. I cannot see it costing more than $300.00.
Next, as a matter of curiosity, I would like to know if it was a Central Florida dealership and if so, which one so I know where NOT to go. 4

I stand corrected. A little research revealed the following:
Per State of Florida, Department of Insurance statute 627.7288, if you have comprehensive on your vehicle, your windshield is replaced without a deductible.

I would definitely double check the replacement costs for the window.

Good luck.

My new ford escape has around 16000 km and I line in montreal.it rear window has exploded without any external interference.
The temprature outside was around -5c and the defrogger was on few min before it happened.
I parked the car and switch off the truck and after 3 min the rear window exploded.
Lets see how the ford dealer in montreal will treat me?.
I will keep you posted.
