I just purchased a 1999 Explorer, and on the console where the cup holders and ash tray are located, right up against the center arm rest and cd/tape holder there is a hole, shaped like a oval. Setting on the seats, looking forward you can not see it. But looking down and turning around in the seat, you can see it. It is not a storage place, and it is lined with cardboard. If you put something in it, you would lose it as it is almost impossible to put your fingers in it. Does anyone have an idea what this is for. I don't have the Eddie Bauer edition. Your imput would be appreciated.
That is where a travel pak of kleenex tissues go. To get to this, raise your console lid and pull up on your change holder and you will see the old box, which is the cardboard lining you are feeling. Good luck.
Just tried to find the tissue boxes that fit into the tissue holder, local grovery stores do not carry them, nor does WalMart or Target. Got an idea or do I have to buy them from the Ford dealer?
I have bought them at Wal Mart before... If you use alot of kleenex in the car, don't worry about finding the ones that fit. They don't come with very many in a box, so you will go through them in a hurry.
Thanks, Tried WalMart, no luck. Since there was an emply box in the Explorer, I just opened one end of the box, cut kleenex to fit and it works. I will continue to look for the boxes, I know I have spotted them at other places.
Thanks again

If you want the exact replacement that fits perfectly, you will need Kleenex Juniors. I have only been able to locate them at Walgreens, they are $1.29 a box.
After stopping at several Ford dealers looking for these, I finally decided to go straight to the source, and visited www.kleenex.com for advice on where to find these. Here's the message I received back:
-----

I just visited drugstore.com, and they do indeed carry these, $1.29/box. I ordered 10, which should get me through the next year or so!
