I'm trying to gather the parts I need to install factory a/c on my '73 390. I'm having a terrible time finding the correct pulleys and brackets - I can't even find and '73-76 with FE and a/c... I've managed to find a crank pulley with 3 grooves (all three the same size) but can't find a water pump pulley with 3 grooves the same size (if there is such a thing) - only 2 grooves or 3 with the front one larger diameter, what is correct?
Anyone have pics of a '73-76 FE a/c brackets and belts?
my '73 360 with factory air has a 3 groove pulley for the water pump. the ac uses the outer pulley on the 3 groove pulleys.
There are 2 brackets that hold the compressor. one is a very heavyduty (thick) right angle bracket that is bolted to the drivers side head. the bolt on the outside also secures the P/S pump.
the comp. sits on this bracket and is secured with 4 bolts.
there is also a large bracket that has an idler pully on it. one side shares the pivot bolt with the altenator adjuster bracket(curved). this bracket goes above the water pump. and there is another bolt on the drivers side of the engine. the top of the braket bolts to the side of the comp.
I took some picks and will see if I can post.been needing to get a shot of my truck anyway. I haven't been able to find my camera since we moved, borrowed one a couple of days ago.
