Seat Position

I have a used 1999 Ford Explorer. It has the leather seats and the movable adjustable seat position with the lombar support system. Problem my husband, who is only 5ft 10" can not get his seat back far enough. The seat is not broken. I was just wondering, what if he was 6ft 4: like my grandson, what how could the seats be made to go further back? I know tall men have bought Explorers, what do they do to make the seats work?
Your imput is certainly appreciated. Thought I could get an answer faster from you than taking it back to the Ford dealer.

Seat Position

I have a '95 and a '98. Both are 4dr. 2WD but I notice the '98 has at least an inch less seat travel (leg room) up front. Hope someone out there knows if the mounts can be adjusted. Good Luck.

Seat Position

Hi. Just saw your post. I have a '97 Eddie Bauer and found that the drivers seat after a while would only move up so far. The seat seemed to slow down and stop when I tried moving it forward. My mechanic told me that this is a common problem where the track of the motorized seat catches on a component from the seat belt. Had it fixed. Cost about a $100 at dealer. Possibly could be same problem you're having.
