Antenna Replacement
I currently have one of those glass-mount cellular look-alike CB antennas on my 94 Explorer. I want to change to a higher quality antenna with better performance and tunability.
I've seen CB antennas that are tri-band (not those crappy AM/FM antennas that are supposed to work as CB antennas, I mean real CB 11 meter 5/8 wave atennas), and would like to have a single antenna to use for AM/FM and CB. Ideally, I would like to put the new antenna on the corner of the hood, where the factory AM/FM antenna currently is.
Do any of y'all know if there is some type of adapter or mount that can be put into the place where the factory antenna is, or if such an adapter or mount even exists?
I know they make mounts that come up through the space between the hood and fender, but I'd really like to be able to put it on in place of the old antenna, so I don't have this mount with no antenna on the hood.
