manual or automatic hubs

recently my automatic hubs have gone bad, I would like to know if I should change over to manual, or stay with automatic. And if I change over to manual do I need to get a conversion kit. any help would be appreciated.

That's a wallet call. I have a freind with a Ranger, who just changed his over to manuals. Saved about $250. (He liked the way mine worked on a 92 Exploder, all manual.)

The thing about auto-hubs is not if they will break, but when. The manual hubs are 10x stronger, and you know they are engaged. If you are rich and don't use the hubs alot, go back with autos. If you need to get where you are going all the time, get manuals. As for the adapter kits, the manufacturer will list them for the application if needed. Good luck

You will need a "conversion kit" if you get the manual hubs. The "conversion kit" only adds about $30 to the cost of the manual hubs. If you call it a "dana 44 spindle nut kit" (I've heard the D35 and D44 spindle nuts are the same) you can get it for cheaper. Even then, it's still alot cheaper to put manual hubs on instead of replacing the auto hubs.
