Broken exterior door handles
Has anybody replaced or repaired outer door handles that have a return spring that has broken off? Both my 91' and 94' Explorers have had this happen to the drivers side doors. I imagine that a new handle must be purchased form the dealer as well as two pop rivets to secure them. Price?

yeah i have a 91 explorer and my exterior door handle busted too i jus went to a junk yard and got me another door handle for like 10 bucks... its a pain to get it off because you have to drill out the rivets and somehow rivet the new one in ... u can also get one at the dealership too....

Yes!! My explorer sport track exterior drive side handle broke, they are plastic....bought one from US Auto parts, about $15.00, installed it, but it is NOT working. Does anyone know if there is a way to remedy this? Is it possible the springs can be adjusted? If so, how ? Please anyone?!
