89 E-150 fuel problems
I have an 89 E-150 with a 302 efi engine. the other day I tried to start it and it turned over but did not crank. I have found out that I have spark but no fuel. In fact no power to fuel pump. Hooked a meter to the leads but no juice.
I bought the van used with no owners manual and my Haynes manual has no fuse chart or relay locations. I don't know where to look for the fuel relay or the ecm relay or even what fuse might control them. I could really use some help here. any one have any Ideas?
thanks Step

If it is not the switch, apply 12 volt to the purple (on my van) switch, and the pump should be running contineously, you will clearly hear this.
Can not help with the relays, as I do not have an owners manual either.
My van has 4 relays in the 'power box', chilton says 3 and does not explain.
Normally, you should have the pump running for 2 seconds after turning on the ignition, and the relay should ebnergise then, I suppose.

(with other running problems, hence 'I've been there')
but it is fixed now. I found 2 relays under the hood, passenger side by the battery. I believe these are the fuel pump and ECC relays. One of them had tiny black ants crawling in it. I replaced it and voila, the van started right away. (I think it was the fuel pump relay but don't really know) I just took a chance that the ants were attracted to something bad in the relay and my hunch paid off!!!
Amazing, huh?
