Edge system

Anyone know anything about this product? My brother in law just got a 04 6.0 with one installed but has no info on it.

How does it compare to the diablo other than looking more expensive since the site we found it on has "call for price"?

It does make the truck run but it also has a banks exhaust and some guages, dealer has to put new tires on the thing since all the test drives put excessive wear on the rears (17 inch wheels, dont know tire size).

Thanks Hank

If you do some research on the edge you will find out that it is very under rated. I have the edge with attitude controller and it is crazy! Look at my gallery for my track times. With on the fly HP tuning and the digital read outs it is a great buy.

I would advise a turbo back exhaust due to the high temp produced buy this unit. other wise you/he will be very happy

You can buy a Predator, a turbo back exhaust and an air intake for $800 if you shop.

The Predator has a lot of features the Edge doesn't plus you can update it with downloads from Diablo's web page.

Check my Gallery. my truck makes 387 HP and 728 Ft Lb of torque with the Predator and a K&N FIPK.

I haven't been to the strip but I have seen 3600 RPM in high gear with the truck still pullin hard.

Bob i need to take my truck to the dyno and see what it does but yours are very good.

IMO the predator is very good and updatable. But the edge(IMO) makes more power. If you plan on running gauges you will spend near the price of the edge if you go with the predator and two/three gauges and the pod. Also I have had the problem of the coolent leak, out of the cap some have said that the timing is to high with the predator and that is the cause. Also the predator has the ability to remove the speed limiter, reset codes and monitor many sensors edge does not. Both have good and bad points and it all come down to a matter of preference! That is why i have both but most people wish not to spend that much money. I am waiting for the latest greatest updated flash for the Predator and then i will let you know more.

Did I understand correctly, that you can not remove the speed limiter with the edge?

It does NOT remove the speed limiter. But there is a way around that also!

How do you remove the speed limiter? What's the workaround?

He bought a Predator and runs them both! He uses the predator for the transmission shifting and the speed limiter removal.
It's a myth that the Predator makes it blow water. I have 20,000 hard miles without loss of a drop. Most others on this forum will report the same thing.
My HP numbers on my gallery are with a stock exhaust.

When you loaded the predator transmission shifting, did it override the Edge's defueling shifts?

I am a little dense here but I do not see any spark plug wires on my truck so how do these chips/reprograms advance the timing to much?

PSD I never was able to get the file for just the improved shifting so the only thing loaded was speed limiter removal. Defueling was the same.

For the those who want to get around the speed limiter( at your own risk) you can take out the speed sensor fuse and install a switch in its place. I dont remember what # fuse it is. My truck w/manuals are in the shop. If you are looking at the fuse panel its in the first row going down right side. It will be the second one down 10amp. Hope this helps

Diesel engines do not have spark plugs. The timing is advanced by the injector pulsewidth timing.
