Thumbs up

I just installed the Edge Juice box tonight! Waiting for the Attitude monitor to get here friday. I bought it off of Ebay for 300.00 even, I couldnt believe no one had bid on it! Found it with 17 hrs to go and no bids! It is the 2.4 version which Edge told me they would upgrade to the 2.6 for free. I had to try it anyway. I cant imagine taking it out to let them reload it or what ever they do. It is absolutely amazing! The truck screams! I cant wait to pull up next to some kid in a mustang! Couldnt of taken more than 20 minutes to install and I even took the battery out (easier to run the cables).

edge

I to have the edge and my best to date et is 8.81 @77.30 mph. My predator arrives today for the purpose or removing te limiter and stcking the power.

I wouldn't do that. Ive already tried it. I assume for racing purposes that you will stack them both full blast; this is far too much timing. I tried it not long ago, the engine sounds like a 3/4 inch ratchet from the piston slap. If you do this for any prolonged amount of time under load you WILL break a rod or skirt. Just use the predator to remove the speed limiter, and if you want to stack, order yourself a custom box from Quad, or DPS that will add fuel and boost without timing.

stacking

I have read nothing but good news about people who stack these two. I do not plan on running them both full tilt toghhether.

You will read GREAT news about the performance until one of them replaces a connecting rod...
You have to keep in mind the fact that the Edge and Predator are the two foremost performance devices for advanced timing; they both use more than anyone else to attain their performance. I stacked my Edge and SCMT both on half setting for about 200 miles; it ran fine until you got up to higher speed at WOT, and then it would start clunking from the timing. This is with both at HALF setting, it gets really really bad with one or both at full.

To understand the destructive potential of this, you have to comprehend the effect at hand. The *timing* is a measure of how far in advance of or beyon TDC that the cylinder charge is combusted (ie, in a diesel, when the fuel is delivered in reference to the stroke). When the timing is too far advance, the charge combusts before the piston reaches the top of its stroke. The impending explosion is forcing the piston down while engine motion is carrying it back up; this has two negative effects - #1 this has a retarding horsepower effect, as it slows the motion of the piston, and #2 you are creating ENORMOUS stress on the connecting rod when doing this. You CAN shatter one of them the first time you try. This effect also creates unbalanced forces upon the piston, twisting it to one side or the other. This *slaps* the piston skirt against the side of the bore, and makes the unmistakeable *clunk* that is so prevalent when the timing is severly advanced. This, along with the additional stress, removes the oil coating from the side of the cylinder wall and can very, very easily cause the ring to wear and scratch an abnormal spot in the cylinder wall. This, eventually, will actually cause the cylinder to lose compression as the seal between the bore and ring is lost due to the gap...

If you want more performance without this danger, order a chip with fuel and boost but no timing advance...however, overboost and overfuel bring in thier own set of risks too....

DO NOT STACK THE PREDATOR WITH THE EDGE. I have tried and PSD is very correct. You will actually have a power loss. Take advice from someone else's 10g mistake. Also you dont need the predator to remove the speed limiter. I did buy it for the same reason(speed limiter)but also to use the trans shifting option that will be added at one point in time.(waiting on predator update)

If you want to do a EZ performance upgrade do water meth injection.

Right on

Just use caution and discretion when mixing it, and you will reap the benefits of lots of extra HP and much cooler EGT's.

Propane will work also not sure how much different of an effect you will get between water/meth and propane. But if they are close to the same then why not run the cheaper WATER.

PSD do you know the difference? HP gain, Risk, EGT’s

If you think thats great... wait until you get your attitude monitor and am able to turn it up two more levels. Also I have heard of the propane injection benifits by lowering the combustion temp thus improving performance but what is the water/ meth???? Never heard of it before.

Stacked

Well I stacked today and my motor did not sound like a 3/4 ratchet, I really feel as if there were no gains. I understand what detonation is so there is no need to explain that.I am going to contact quadzilla and see what he thinks. Thanks to all that posted.

Yeah it wont take a minute to install when it gets here. I have the Edge version 2.4 that they told me they would upgrade for free, but now that I have felt the pull, I cant see taking it out of my truck for the 2-4 days lost in shipping it back and forth. Just too much fun. Btw I never have really understood the 2 additional levels available just because I install the Attitude. My highest now is 110 according to the instructions. What will I get in addition to monitoring capabilities and the remote operation? Also regarding pulling the fuse of the speed sensor, wouldnt that kill the speedo? What other risks besides speeding tickets are there from pulling it?

yeah i don't think anyone should go yankin fusses out of a new truck . That is the hacking way of doing thinks if you ask me. The next two levels are 130 and 150 I think. All I know is that it sure will beat most nopi cars and alot of all show and no go mustangs and camaros.
