Usually- someone in this house gets stung every few months in the summer.

Not a big deal execpt for the giant underground hornet nest that got the satallite tv guy- luckily him and not the kids.

I do bee sweeps about once a month but it still gets out of hand.

PS- being an ex survival type, we have both benydril and a expired epi pen just in case. Gotta be prepared.

In regards to the location where my dad was stung on the neck, which was below the ear, was not relavent according to the UT study. Maybe somebody here with a medical background can better explain this but the study showed that every time you are stung by any insect, the venom does not leave your body. The wound will heal but the venom is still in you. When conditions are right, an additional sting will activate all of the venom at one time. The person will experience swelling of the throat and tongue and can choke to death. The Benedryl is an anti-histimine (sp) and can be found in pill form along with other cold or allergy meds at most stores. It does not require a prescription. It reduces swelling. I strongly suggest if you have bees or wasps, if you live in the country, plan any type of outdoor activity, please have Benedryl close by. If you don't care to worry about it for yourself, get it for your loved ones. This is one time that it may be too late to say you're sorry.

I've had a lot of wasp nests around the house in the last 2 summers, and brake clean kills them dead.
seems to work way faster than wasp killer I tried first. I've got no room in my life for those nasty little critters.

Jim decided to knock two huge nests down while we were hurricane proofing the barn and horse. They are mean little buggers. Very very aggressive. I have to get the spray mentioned earlier and knock em down after the cane for they began rebuilding immeditely.

3M Spray Adhesive

As a former 3M employee ( they closed the plant) we used the spray adhesive for the same thing......fast, simple and effective. Works great on other flying pests too.
