Simmer down brushfire! Geeze I leave you guys alone for a day and look at cha!

Honestly, I don't care what affects an alignment or how it works. All I care about is getting my Bronco aligned with the 35's mounted on 15x10 Weld Wheels. It just has to be as close as it can be with a TTB. I don't want to wear out my $900 tires (spare included) with an alignment that is completely out of whack. Can it be done or do I have to switch to factory wheels for the alignment rack and tools?

Thanks

Depends on the rack but I would highly recommend doing it with the new wheels and rims so you know for sure.

it shouldn't a problem. Use the new wheels and tires for sure. At worst, a place that specializes in alignments should be able to do anything.. (big trucks light trucks etc).

35s aren't that big, almost any place should be able to do them. If you had 44s, that would be a different story

The alignment tool for the caster and camber mounts on the wheel. Tire and wheel size should not matter. 0 degrees camber would be 0 degrees nomatter what size the wheel is for example. Tire size may make a difference depending on the make of the alignment machine, if the tires are too big for the toe in/out plates.

Thats if you have 0 degrees camber, most have 1 or so degrees camber.

Well i had to revive this thread.

I had 35 x 12.5 tires on last winter then went to 35 x 14.5 tires in the summer. I drove it out of the shop and of course it was steering to the right. Got out of truck and looked at the front end. Damn tires have negative camber. I have been fighting with alignment issues on this truck ever since i had it. I have up to 3 degrees of eccentric bushings in there cranked all the way positive. I have changed from a 4" lift springs to 2" lift springs with adjustable coil spring lifters. Those lifters have been very useful as i seem to always be dropping my front end or raising it an inch or so, just so my camber is back to spec. I will be putting my 35 x 12.5 tires on in a few days and i will bet any money on it my tires will go to an extreme amount of positive camber from spec where it is now.

Just had to show and tell my experience.

Well since I do alligments at work let me put in my 2 cents..

The only reason I can't allign my bronco with the 40's on it is because the beam for setting the toe will be blocked. But our allignment rack can handle 38's.

but lemme tell ya.. aliigning bronco's is a freakin pain.. Mine was dead on perfect with the numbers but it still pulled to the right.. that thing spent hours on the machine..

I installed the Tuff country 2-1/2 inch lift, which comes with cool elliptical bushings/bolts where the front IFS axles attach to the frame, on the drop brackets. I also have the elliptical camber/caster bushings from skyjacker, which allow +-2 degrees. The alignment guy loved it.

caster is a good thing... the extended radius arms help that out a lot..
