On our 91 exployer 4x4 the battery is discharging. Several months ago it did this and we had the bushings in the alt. replaced and bought a new battery. A large battery. 1000 crank. now 6 months later it seems to be discharging again. Could it be those bushings again. We havent put many miles in 6 months. We only drive it every now and then. Have any ideas? Or where should we start at replacing parts?

 

The fact that you dont drive it a lot may be part of the problem . Does it discharge to the point where you cant start the engine ? Check the battery cables over well , not just at the battery but where they make their connections & make sure they are clean.
