I have a 93 Sport and am trying to fing the egr valve. The guy at the parts store told me that is on the firewall and is a flat cannister with a vuccuum line attached to it. I can not find one at all. On another post, someone told me that there is not a egr on my vehicle. The parts man swears it is listed for this year and model. Can someone help me????
The EGR valve on an Explorer 4.0L V6 is located on the driver's side of the intake manifold, directly underneath the idle air control, hidden behind the bracket the holds the EGR transducer.
The EGR transducer is a rectangular gray item, with two silicone hoses that go to the EGR tube from the exhaust manifold, and a wire connector with 3 or 4 wires in it. The EGR valve is under this componet's bracket and is barely visible at the rear of this bracket.
This is on automatic transmissions Explorers, never have seen a stick shift Explorer in So Cal.
