A little off the topic, but is it possible to put the torqshift behind an older PSD or even pre PSD? Be an awesome upgrade from an e4od or 4r100.

Many would like to, it would be great behind a 7.3..............to my knowledge and all I have read it cannot be done.........it might be possible with unlimited funding...as most anything could be....with enough money.

Yeah, theres gotta be alot of engine to tranny data being sent throughout the truck. would still be a cool setup though.

Sorry to hear about your troubles. I have also heard of very few Torqshift failures. Seems Ford has designed a very robust transmission. The only thing I can compare it to is the Allison in my previous truck, and it seems every bit as strong.

jdadamsjr.....

Sorry, thought i did post a FOLLOWUP......

I got it back after 2 1/2 weeks (not nearly in time for vacation)......they said they put a new transmission in and that getting the part was the problem (not readily available as a part yet)......got close to a 1000 miles on it since the repair/rerplace and it seems to be running great.......

I hope I do not get in trouble for posting this in 2 places, but was unsure where to put it.....an answer to this post, but a followup to another....

I just took mine in for the trans slip.. bouncin in and out of gear. No reverse.
The truck has 30k and those are 30k of very hard romp on miles, also pulling a 5-6k lb trailer daily. It may be PCM or internal we will see I will let you know what went wrong with mine when its done. But it is more than likely due to my heavy foot, not due to the tourqe shift its self.

No, I did have a conversation with the regional service supervisor....who said it was the first time he had heard of any problems with the tranny, and unless it was a large scale problem, the r&d guys would not likely tell the general population what they found.

The Transmission specialty shop that actually did the replacement, was the ones that said the plantitary gear failed.....I do have this in writting from them.
