yes i checked its definatly compression stroke and i used a piece of wire to verify that the piston topped out very close to tdc marking on h bal, also i tried alot of different timings the engine didnt fire on any
i replaced some ignition parts - coil, module, wires, rotor, cap, plugs
checked fuel pressure also
i dont know what could be wrong with it but i know if i dont fix it tonite or tomorrow im gonna hafta put her in the s-h-o-p
You have my sympathies if you have to take it to "professionals'. The only time I have run into where an engine would not even make firing attempts or noises with starting fluid was when I cranked the rockers down so far the valves could not close. (the shop manual had a misprint, my 1966 Mustang it should have been 1/2 turn not 2 turns to adjust valve lash(yes it was new in 1966))
