according to my 79 motors truck manual:
72 390 2 barrell engine code H
8.2 to 1 compression
201 hp @ 4400 rpm
316 lb. ft. torque @ 2600 rpm
it list a 351 with 4 bbl carb, engine code Q:
8.6 to 1 compression
248 hp @ 5400 rpm
299 torque @ 3800 rpm
someone may have dropped in a 67-68 390 4bbl:
10.5 to 1 compression
320 hp @ 4800 rpm
427 torque @ 3200 rpm
maybe a mustang gt motor?
67-68 numbers seem a lot higher, but 72 was rated at the wheels, 67 at the flywheel
