with dual wheels the titan is a good choice, but with the singles, its pretty precarious when there's much weight back there.

the problem with 12-15K on a bumper hitch and singles is there is more weight behind the ball than in front. when u jack the brakes in an emergency stop, the wobbley rear end can easily let the high weight on the trailer push the rear of the truck to one side causing an obvious problem......
also the rear is pushed down as the front is picked up which can engage the abs when the fronts slide from the bigger brakes. and the trailer brakes dont activate as fast as u may think. even with the prodigy.

to all who are asking my opinion.....if u gotta haul more than 10,000lbs, u need to be usin a goose neck. the bumper hitch just isnt safe up there

are there really many bumper hitch trailers out there with a 16,000lb rating?? the biggest one i've ever seen was a big car trailer that had a 9000 rating
When you say bumper hitch are you meaning the frame mounted receiver type

As far as safety goes I haul a 2 car tag along trailer with my f 350. When loaded it is in the 12 to 14k range. With weight dist. hitch every thing was alwys just fine, mywife drove it also and she isnt very adventurous about doing unsafe things. Also keep a good eye on the adjustment of the trailer brakes, they are not always rigth from the factory

I have the factory hitch from ford I think its rated at 12500.I use weight dist hitch from alocal supplier, I think its a reese. They orderd me a ball thats used in the goosenecks because they were affraid that was the week link. I used to tow with 02 cc drw v 10 6 sp and no problems with the weight. Just traded that in for a 04 cc drw psd at. Have not towedwith it yet but I am looking forward to doing so.

I have used a Reese Titan V on all of my Super Duties with single rear wheels, including my current 2004 F-350. I have towed boat trailers ranging in weight from 10K to 14K with it with no problems at all (I do use Air bags). I bought my latest Titan for $300 on-line and it took all of 30 min to lower the spare and bolt it up.
