I was wondering if any one has any info on towing an Escape behind a motorhome. My parents are considering towing their Escape and are trying to figure out if they need a tow dolly or can they tow it with 4 wheels on the ground. It is a 2000 Escape 4X2 with an auto trans and a 3.0 V6. If it can not be towed with the drive wheels on the ground, can modifications be made to allow it? If so, where can I get info? Any help on this will be greatly appreciated.
So, it looks like it can not be towed without a dolly as it would be quite a job to remove and reinstall the axle-shafts just to go on a vacation. We have looked in the owner's manual, but it does not cover aftermarket modifications. I looked at REMCO's website last night, but thay do not make anything for the Escape. I was hoping that someone might know of another manufacturer that might make axle disconnects for these vehicles.
