I have a 2000 F-150 4x4 Lariat with the tan leather interior and the leather on my steering wheel has cracked and basically disappeared. The leather-wrap grip is starting to loosen up in spots where the padding has worn out.It now looks like a well-worn leather couch. I'm looking for some type of replacement or fix if at all possible. My Captain's chair is also starting to crack a little from sweating (work outside quite a bit). I didn't know if there was a way to prevent any further damage or possibly a fix. Thanks for any help!
You can find the wheels on Ebay pretty regular, salvage yards, or buy a new one for about 300 clams from the dealer. I have a couple good spares from Expeditions here myself. I replaced mine with a Wood wheel from a Navigator.
Ford only recommends injecting glue under the leather wrap if it isnt real bad, but when its toast, its toast.
eBay is your best bet. I called the dealer and got some prices on a new Lightning wheel, because I wanted to switch to that. But it was huge $$ because I also need to replace the air bag.

Hi,
I had a break-in on my 98 nascar and they gouged up my steering wheel really bad. Will the ford airbag bolt right up to the navigator wheel?
Same deal with the expedition?
My mom has a navigator, that wood wheel is very nice looking.
Im thinking the early F150 used a different airbag. I know the 2000 Expy uses the same air bag as the Navigator, just a different emblem. They bolted up the same but I had to use a Navigator clockspring and modified the wiring at the base of the columb.
