Help!!!!
I just got back from dealership, my truck was in because of a fuel leak. They said its all fixed and ready to go. I also had a brand new Fisher X-Blade 8 ft plow installed while it was there for the 2 days. well I picked it up and I was on my way hoping that the problems are all gone, I made it about 5 miles down the road when I noticed the truck was over heating and was in the red for a I don't know how long. I immediately pulled over and shut down, while I was sitting there letting the truck cool down I called the dealership and told them to get a tow truck.
I am now back in the rental car again!!
has anyone had this problem with the plows mounted, before anyone asks I had the plow off the ground about 4 inches so the radiator was getting air. This is definitely a coolant problem in my eyes. Is there a TSB out on this problem?
I am not getting a real good feeling about this truck as it only has a 1000 miles on it. Also do you think I hurt the motor running this hot, I am guessing it ran hot for about 5 min. I also told them to change the oil while it was in again.

Sounds like they may have done an Oops...
like one did on my $75K motorhome one time...
Flush and filled the radiator...
but forgot that second part (the fill) !
they bought it from me !

03/04 F-Series Overheating with Snow Plow Installed:
If a snow plow is installed on a truck with the 6.0, it may disrupt the air flow through the front of the truck causing the cooling fan to stop or turn in reverse. For trucks with snow plows there is a revised fan clutch available (P/N 4C3Z-8A616-SA). Some trucks have been modified with a jumper on the fan connector to keep the fan continuously engaged. This jumper must be removed before connecting the new fan. Broadcast Message 1137.
My real concern was the engine running Red-Line for maybe 5 minutes and I am worried if any damage could have happend. forget about getting a straight answer from a service manager about the engine running hot, he said it would take 30 minutes or more for damage to occur, I dont believe that and I think they are trying to cover their own MISTAKE.
