Installed new 295 75 16 Nitto's in place of the 35 12.5 16.5 BFG's I've been running. No more tires sticking out of the wheel wells. The ride is quiet and smooth as silk. Seems like people aren't staring at the truck all the time and my gas mileage is up 1.5 MPG. Why didn't I do this years ago? See the new version in my profile if you want.
Nice X -
tel me how you cleaned it up - am thinking of removing the chrome strip down the side of my black Ex, but wondered what was behind it that I would have to fix...
and what's this about the "protectors" on your lights ?
Yep, that's what I thought. Didn't even care when the neighbors kid asked my why I took my " cool " wheels off today.
As for the truck - it came like that. The 2000 XLT Premium was a package that included everything the LTD had, plus a 4.3 rear and the off-road package, but without any body cladding or exterior trim.
I wouldn't think there would be anything behind the chrome strip but adhesive. Get it off, strip it and buff it out.
The " protectors " are clear plexiglass covers for my Hella fog lamps. Hella makes them for all their lamps, they're just a bit hard to find. They are available aftermarket for the main lamps on Toyota Landcruisers, but I've never seen them for other vehicles.

what nittos did you put on, i am looking for new tires for the X, looking for a good high speed tire, routinely drive 80-90 on the way to my ranch as well as something that can put up with some rain
I may be getting older but I refuse to grow up. I just bought some 20"x9.5" Pather Realm rims for my Ex. Going to pick up some tires for them next week. Thinking about taking off the 2" lift to drop it back to stock height.
Well I put some rims on with the back spacing set so that the outer edges of the tire are flush to the side of the truck. The tires look larger and the truck looks much better and I still get to run stock size tires for good MPG.
My wife keeps telling me I need to put some stripes and I say no I like it the way it is. I am to lazy to keep it clean so the white help there as well
Hey - how come you guys can attach JPEG files and I can't?
Are they loaded on an image server or are you trying to attach direct from your computer? You can only attach from an http URL. For an example just right click on any image and select properties for a URL of that image.
