Hi to all:
I've been reading trough the forums and I have found this topic posted many times; but somehow I cannot get it to work. What am I doing wrong here? I have 3 different FOBs (one was from a jaguar) and I cannot program them right. Does the kind of FOB has to do anything? What do I must look first in a FOB that it will work or match on my 95 EB?
This is the procedure I've been following: Brand new FOBs, by the way.
1. Get the remotes.
2. switch form on - off position 5 times (i get the confirmation on the locks) {I have the door open at this point, could this affect?}
3. Press a button on the remote {Any button?}
4. No confirmation after I pressed the button.
Please help me. How does a "FORD" FOB should look like?
Your procedure is correct and the cycling of your locks indicates you do have keyless entry. You must use a remote from a '95-'97 Explorer. A remote from a '98 and up Explorer definately will not work and I don't even know if '94 and earlier Explorers offered keyless entry. A remote from another manufacturer will not work either. The remote you want is the Ford remote with 3 buttons on it. They are labeled with the words "Lock", "Unlock" & "Panic". The newer remotes have symbols instead of the words, they won't work.
