Question Spool vs circle track spool. Any difference?

I got a circle trac spool for my 9 inch rear end. What is the difference between a full spool and a light weight circle track full spool? Will this be strong enough for a big block with 33s and steep gears?

Thanks,
Clayton

I don't know if there's a definite answer to your question. At some shops I've been to their track spools are lightened, others the track spools are beefed up. Some places call all of their spools track spools since they aren't street legal. All it is is a selling term. . .

I don't know if there is two different types, but a full spool is much lighter and most circle track drivers are looking for any advantage. Having much less mass to turn in the diff helps in acceleration and braking, even if just a slight amount. The guys around here run full spools because they are light. My mini spool still has to use all the old steel parts inside the diff, and thus it is quite a bit heavier.

I have no idea if any of this will help..
