Explorer driver's door numbered keypad
Is the keypad suppose to light up so you can see the numbers? Sometimes I use the keypad at nite.

Yes, when you press a number on the keypad, the pad should light up.

And when it doesn't light up any more, the only fix is to replace the pad. There isn't a replaceable light bulb inside. The pad has to be gotten through the inside of the door.

I overheard its a sealed unit. you will need to go to the dealer and buy the whole thing. Mine doesn't light up anymore and I'm not considering changing the unit soon.

Yeah, i remember when that happened to my old Explorer...there is only one cheap alternative......Maglite on the keychain.
