Six Pack CD
I am having this exact same problem with my 6cd player. I have a 1998 f-150 4x4 extended cab lariat and the player is in the same location as yours (rear drivers side of the cab). The 6cd player pops out so that you can add cd's....
I bought the truck at 65,000 mi (now it is at 78,000) and the dealer said that an old man drove it from new so I don't think he played to many cd's (I'm not saying yall old men don't like to pop in some cd's sometimes
) I thought it might be dirty so I blew it out many times with an air compressor while it was playing and while it wasn't. This didn't help it at all!It seems though it has good connection just like it won't read the cd's right. Like it is crackly and poping sound, or skipping like I am hitting bumps. I know that on some cd players turn at a maximum RPM. And if you are using burned cd's from your computer and you write them at lets say a 8,000 RPM writing speed and your player can only play at 6,000 RPM then your player isn't going to read right. So I have tried to burn cd's at like 2,000 RPM and I know all cd players at least play them as fast as 2,000 RPM, even the older ones, and it still seems to mess up.
I know that my player usually plays cd's better if they are bought from the store than when I burn them from my computer.
SOMEONE PLEASE HELP -- I was about to post this exact same question as Modrisco did but he beat me to it. I don't know why are players are doing this!!!!
