I'm really wanting to get a new PS. But I've heard lots of bad stuff with the new motor. I still see tons of theese new trucks every where though. So how much trouble are the newer PS's? I'l probably get a dually cc 4x4. Thanks for your reply. BTW right I have a 1999 PS 3/4 cc.

Welcome to FTE!
There is plenty of historical information on this forum. There are a large number of satisfied owners on this forum and there are a few Ford haters that jump on any thread like this so they can spout their venom.
There were a number of the early (05-03 build date and before) that had various problems. Most of these trucks have now been repaired or replaced.
The '04s with very few exceptions have been problem free. The Problem/Mileage thread identifies most of these problems.
I have added a Predator and a K&N FIPK to my truck. I have left the exhaust stock because I don't like noise. My dyno sheet and Blackstone oil report are on my gallery. I like to brag that my truck makes 387 HP and 723 Ft Lb of torque. I also like to brag that I have had no real problems in 22,000 miles. I love my truck!
WOW, thanks for the info Choctaw. I will loke up the problem/mileage thread. Thanks
Dave. BTW I can deal with the ford haters, especially if they are dodge owners.

I traded my 7.3 for the 6 and never looked back. Life is too short to worry about the little stuff. What will happen, will happen regardless of what I do.
I have a 6.0l with about 900 miles on it and love it. My father has a 01 7.3l and all he does is talk about how awesome the my 6.0l is. He practically begs me to drive it. I can't get over how much he talks about mine. I can never get him to talk about anything and now I can't get him to stop talking about the 6.0l. On that note it has tons of power and is a lot quieter than the 7.3l. What a great truck. I am seeing a lot more 6.0l's on the road lately. My guess is if you do it you will never look back.
a couple of my friends have have ahd trouble with theirs...but isn't that what warranty is all about anyways? if it breaks -they will fix it for free im pushing 155k on my 7.3 and no problems with the engine/drivetrain at all, but i got it at 127k, so for all i know the original owner had a world of trouble, which the dealership corrected.

I would say the 6.0 is a powerful engine, but I perfer the 7.3 ovewr the 6.0 my 7.3 got much better fuel mpgs, and it is my opinion that if you pull on the hwy. the 6.0 is fine but if you pull around town or on a farm the 7.3 is the way to go.
