99 3.sl0w ranger 4x4. looking to get headers and true duals on my truck.. will this be good/bad for power? i found some headers for it, but i also need two high flow cats and two mufflers, right? any ideas on what i should look for? flowmaster 40 series? what size pipe do i need?
Yes, you should see a nice difference in power. IMO, dont mess with the cat unless you buy or make some MIL eliminators. Without them, power will probably go down from stock. Leave it where it is and get the headers, and run a cat back exhaust.
Headers that are meant to be bolt in replacements, should not require you to have an aftermarket Y pipe. But Im sure there are better flowing ones out there.
No need to have good flowing headers, dumping into a restrictive Y pipe If aftermarket ones are too expensive, check into having a GOOD muffler shop make you one. I have put one together welding exhaust pipe bends and pieces you can get online. It was a pain, but it was much cheaper, and flowed the same.
