Expedition Instrument Panel Lights Out!!!

I Own a 2000 expedition eddie bauer and the instrument lights in the inside of the truck keep going out,so it is pitch black inside with no lights anywhere.They replaced the light switch and then a week later ,the lights blow out again.I Think its a Sensor problem with the automatic lights .and the trunk won't open with the remote pad sometimes,i have to use the key.Please does anyone have any answers??

Well there is obviously a shorted wire somewhere, but there are 7 pages in the EVTM of circuits that all go to the LB/RD wire from the main light switch. Go back to the dealer and have them credit you for the previous repair work and get them to find the true problem. It may take hours of diagnostic though unless you can isolate where the short is easily. Obviously they werent able to do that before condemning the switch.
