I have a 2003 F150 4x4 and the brake dust that accumalates on the front is verocious. Anyone had any luck with changing brake pads that did make so much dust. Any neat tricks to keep dust from sticking to tires?
I have the same issue with my 98 F150 4x4, I have been told that brake covers (I think that is their name) would work, I don't know from experience but I do know you can get them at Advance Auto parts and I believe they are 34 bucks. Hope this helps
Well, Crazy001, if you look at it like that is it really worth spending 2500.00 dollars lifting a truck and putting 35" tires in it for cruizing up and down the highway??..... No but it looks good, Don't like the look of the dirty wheel and tired of spraying them with brake dust cleaner and cleaning them.
Just a thought about the brake dust problem. I agree that it is annoying. But more importantly is why are you having a dust issue to begin with? My 02 f150 has never had this problem and i have 43,000 miles on the factory brakes.
Could your calipars be hanging up and be causing your brakes to drag all the time? This would cause rapid brake pad wear which would cause excessive brake dust which you are noticing. Just my 2¢ on brake dust!
my truck does the same thing, brake dust gets all over the front wheels. I don't think it's a problem, I've never seen a car or truck that doesn't have the same problem. no big deal, I guess.
