Brake splash/dust guards

Hey Guy's

Hoping someone can point me in the right direction. I'm in the middle of a complete rebuild of my 92 F-150 4X4 5.0 front end and I can't seem to find the Brake splash/dust guards. Mine are rotted out and I'm looking for 2 new ones. I google "Brake splash/dust guards" and all that comes up is the dust covers for the wheels itself. any leads would be helpful. I've checked all the autozone pep boys and so fourth and their like what's that.

Thanks,
Fordmonn

I seriously doubt you find this at your local auto parts store. I needed some for my 80 F100 and had to get them from the junk yard. If you want them new you may want to check with your local Ford dealer or the LMC catalog.

I just bought mine for my 94 F250 at the dealership. I think the were like $30 each. They had to order them, but it only took a couple days to get.

Yep couple years back I bought one for the drivers side, it was like 37 bucks and the dealer was the only place to get em.

Just tried getting one for my 94 for the other side today, 7 of them in Detroit Mi. but for 216 bucks each they can keep em.

Just put on new rotors, pads and ball joints, its not getting that backing plate.

Junk yard will only sell one if the axle itself is shot, no one anywhere near me has one.

Just did pretty much the same thing with my '90 F150... I had to destroy the old rusted out dust shield on the drivers side to get the spindle off... It wasnt doin much good anyway.. The junk yard guy said he might have one out in the yard but Id have to get it off myself... I decided to go without one. Wondering what kind of problems this might cause in the future with mud, dirt, whatever able to get at the inside pad and rotor area???

I've been running without the dust shields on my '89 150 for a little over six years now, with no ill effects. I get good mileage out of the brake pads, and no gouging or warping of the rotors. It stops just fine in wet weather, too. I'm not gonna stick my neck out and say this is typical, but I wouldn't think it's that unusual, either.

Not to mention, running without the shields makes it a lot easier to check the condition of the insides of the rotors!
