2005 Commercial Connection Progam Announced
Effective 8/1/04 through 8/1/05, Ford is offering a $300 rebate to business owners on Ranger, F150-550, Econoline and Freestar. If you add $1200 in business-related equipment, Ford will up that to $1000 on Econoline, Freestar, and F-350-550 cab & chassis, or $500 on Ranger and F150-350 pickup trucks (that was $1000, but they dropped it to $500 on pickups to match what GM and Dodge are offering). Commercial Connection is not compatible with A/X/Z-Plan purchases or any private offer, like College Grad, AQHA, etc...

Jeff,
I have a couple questions about this post. Does it apply to 2005 models only? I have 10 days before my 30 waiting period for the AQHA $500. I am interested in a 2004 XLT Screw. I was going to use it with the Comm Conn program of $1000 for lettering which will invoice at over $1250. Also my dealer does not list tonneau covers as allowed upgrades for the commercial connection, have you had this as an approved upgrade?. Also does the 5.4 & tow package discount apply to all F150's

Jeff- do you know what kind of rebates there will be for the 2005 econoline vans. like the mobility rebate. also why isnt ford putting in the 3 valve heads in the vans? ive been holding my father off for a year hoping the new engines were coming out in the 2005 vans but now im very dissapointed.

E-vans usually run a year or two behind everything else when it comes to updates. Let's face it- Econolines sell no matter what Ford offers in them. I hate to guess on rebates, but in 2004 we had at least $1000 on E-vans almost from day one. I think you'll see something similar for 2005, but it's just a gut feeling, nothing more. I keep trying to ask Bill Ford, Jr., but he won't return my calls!

Can anyone who owns a business get this rebate? Or does the commercial item need to be directly related to the business? Here is my situation...I am a dentist with my own office in California. I have my own EIN number, business license and all that stuff. I have a 2005 F350 King Ranch on order and would like to put a Tommy Liftgate in the back because I haul stuff around a lot and this is a great way to save back breaking work of loading the bed...Would the commercial rebate help on this even though the Liftgate is not related to my business?

Jackyboy-
Now things get hazy. Ford's program says they'll re-imburse you for upfits "necessary for conducting your business," but the only way they'll know you're not a contractor is if they audit the dealership you bought it from. You have the EIN, that qualifies you as a business. It's a judgement call on the part of your dealer at this point.
