'99 Explorer automatic door lock help!
I want to turn off the automatic locking of the doors when the vehicle moves. As soon as I start moving the doors all lock - I guess its a child saftey feature but I dont want it, it drives me crazy. Can anyone tell me how to disable this feature???

This is relatively simple to do. Just so you know, the directions are in the manual but I'll post them anyways.
First, make sure that anti-theft system (if you have it) is not armed, the ignition is off, and all the doors and liftgate are shut.
Next, enter the 5 digit code on the driver's door keypad.
Press and release the 3/4 button while holding the 7/8 button.
Release the 7/8 button. The horn will now chirp (once for deactivation, twice for activation.
If you don't have the keypad code, here's another way.
Within 30 seconds:
turn the ignition key to on.
press the power door unlock button 3 times
turn the ignition key from on to off.
press the power door unlock button 3 times
turn the key back to on, the doors will lock and unlock
press the power door unlock switch, the horn will then chirp
turn the ignition to off and the horn will chirp again to signal its complete
Personally, I like the feature so I left it activated on mine. I deactivated it on my father's, though because he didn't like it either. Good luck
