Hi gang... me again with another question.
Seems my lumbar support system on my Explorer's seats is not working. I can see two controls (both with + and - signs) on hthe left side but on one, I can hear a littlw whirring noise when its pressed on the other one, nothing at all. What could be wrong? What do i need to check?
Sorry, this isn't an answer, but I have the same problem...the passenger side works fine but the driver side lumbar "whirs" but doesn't pump the air. I'm hoping that someone has the answer to help us:+ I sure would love to have my lumbar support back!
I had that problem on my Explorer shortly after I got it. The pump would pump but the support would not inflate. The car was still new so I got a good lesson in warranty work. First visit they replaced the switch, which had no effect. The second visit they replaced the air bladder in the seatback, which also did nothing. After that they did some good old fashioned diagnostic work and followed the tubing from the pump to the seat. Apparently there is a plastic joint in there somewhere and it cracked, allowing air to leak out. It took a few minutes to diagnose and fix it but they probably didn't get paid well for it, so it was their last resort option. Whether you're still under warranty or not, I'd start with examining the lines, especially if you can hear air leaking.
