My wife and I took our first road trip yesterday in our 2017 F-250 Lariat, to put some miles on before towing. Our truck has the heated/cooled leather seats. While trying to find a comfortable setting for the lumbar support, I noticed that once set, the pressure on my back seemed to change from top to bottom, without my touching the button. I mentioned that to my wife and she commented on the same thing. Only way I can describe it is it felt like a soft rolling pin was going up and down my lower back, the more it was inflated, the more I felt it.
Now I know the Platinum has massaging seats, which might just put me to sleep, but has anyone noticed what I'm describing on lesser trim levels?
I'm coming from a 2012 F-150 FX4 (that was totaled on the first day of Spring), and its lumbar support was static when set. No little elf in the seat massaging my back...
I've not felt such a thing in my truck, but what you describe sounds exactly like the massaging seats. How many buttons does your circular lumbar control have? The non massage seats only have a 2 way control, whereas the massaging seats have a 5 way control.
My lariat heated and cooled seats don't do that. Perhaps check your build sheet. Also the lumbar button has a forward and back arrow on the lower side of the seat. The massaging seats also have an up down arrow On the same button. Perhaps you have a special order or a mistake added massaging seats. There are several patterns to massage by repeating the pressing of the "up" button, or down button.

sounds like you have the massaging seats - I equate it to a cat "kneading" your back (and bottom).
on our Platinum, when your on the "home" screen - if you touch any of the lumbar buttons (driver or passenger) - the screen changes to the seat adjustment display & "massage" option can be turned on and off from that screen.
Well, this is weird. Nothing on the window sticker. Didn't see a build sheet. No controls on the Sync3 screen. I asked my wife again about it last night, and she said the same thing again.
I wonder if the lumbar bladder has a series of cells or chambers in it, and going down the road, as one's ars, moves in one's seat, it can cause air to alternate between cells???
Seems to be more pronounced at higher pressures. Guess I'll just consider it a bonus...
