hood scrapes

hood scrapes

got A 61 Ford F100. while driving the hood came open. ever since when the hood is opened it scrapes against the ledge where it sits wile closed how should i fix this problem. i don't want it doing this after i paint the truck. the scraping can be avoided if two people lift from either side of the hood. any help is apreiciated thanks.

sounds like you need new hinges. when the hood flew up it bent the hinges into some bad positions. i dont think you could adjust it out.

ya we tried ajusting and it didn't work thanks. you know a good place for those hinges the cheapest i've found is $80.00 a hinge

You'd better grap them for $80 apiece. Some suppliers are asking as much as $125....each! And I agree, the hinges are bent and unusable.

I concur with Krosati; I even try going cheap with salvage yard (junk Yard) ones and was better off purchasing from mag's. After a while they seem to pop out of hinge alingment; Check several companies to find cheapest prices. Just my initial thought..
