Lightbulb 360 question

I was just wondering if my 360 in my 1986 Jeep Grand Wagoneer is a FE 360? It has ford stuff on it(distributor, motorcraft 2150 carb), but is it really the same motor? This is one of my issues with Jeep of that time, because they were made by AMC back then.

no the 360 in your jeep should be a chrysler engine. the only way it could be a FE is that if someone switch motors. the chrysler 360 and ford 360 are two totally different animals. the chrysler 360 is a small block and the ford 360 is a big block

The 360 in the Jeep Grand Wagoneers is an AMC V-8 and is from the 277-304-343-360-390-401 family of AMC engines. It shares nothing with the Ford FE engines or the LA series Chrysler engines.

Help with your Jeep can be found on the forums at ifsja.org. It's a very good and helpful board.

Check to see if your distributor is 180 degress out. It's a common mistake and applies to almost all engines.
