Now don't get me wrong....if this thing were restorable I would not even consider this....Located a 57 ford four door that I can just picture as a stock car...perhaps the owner of the local track would permit me to race this old of a car....the windows have been knocked out for many years and the inside is totally demolished....could possibly run this in the factory stock division at the local track...The question is what is the largest engine that they put in the cars in '57....I am pretty sure they used what was called a police interceptor in some of them, but I am not sure about the c.i. or h.p.
Can anyone help....? Nomadic

No expert here, but my guess would be a 312. I know it came in the Mercs and T-birds, but not sure if it was ever an option in the 57 Ford. I think the 352 might have come out in 58 perhaps? My experience on this board is if I say something wrong all the experts will come out, so maybe this is get the ball rolling. We need a Ford expert here, guys...

Thank you for your replies to my post...wasn't sure myself...don't know if it would be competitive with that size engine...but might be able to sneak in a 352, or something comparable...I can just see this old buggy with wide racing wheels and tires, and a big red number on the side...will check into it a little furthur...Thanks again....Nomadic
