I checked mine for the first time last night. The first tank I have checked and got 15.6 MPG. I only have 250 miles on the truck, I am going to hope it goes up. This was town driving and no hills. What kind of increases have people seen with Flowmasters installed and K&N filter systems. Thanks again for the great posts.
i did notice that my second fill up got better mileage than first tank. i noticed one of the reply stated that their dealer suggested 5w30 and no synthetic. 5w30 will void your warranty, 5w20 is recommended by ford. if you go to amsoil web site you will notice that ford had amsoil develope the first 5w20 synthetic for their pick ups when they changed from 5w30 back in 2002 model start up. as for k&n with exh mods. anything that gets more air in and out will help.
My SCAB 8' with 4.10 gears gets around 11.5 in town and 15.5 on the highway. My truck has just over 4300 mi and no increase in MPG since new. I keep detailed records on mileage detailing amount of gas and how far driven. My 03 F250 had 24000 mi and mileage did not change from when new either. I believe the myth about MPG getting better as the truck gets 'broken in' is busted.
04 Supercrew, 4.6, 3.55's and the standard 17" wheels and tires. Town driving mostly expressway and then it idles for hours at a time- 17-18 mpg. I have had it on the hiway twice, 75-85 mph it gets 17.6, at 65 mph it gets 23.1 mpg. Ya want mileage ya gotta get off the gas. My fuel mileage is the only bright spot for my SCrew, otherwise I have had far too many problems- but that is another thread.
